+ Regularly vacuuming your home, especially, curtains, furniture and carpet sucks up any fleas or their eggs as well as mites. 

+ Use a drop of cooking oil along with a few drops of dog shampoo in five cups of water while washing your dog to kill fleas and mites effectively.

+ Prepare a mixture of water and vinegar and pour it on the affected area to repel fleas.

However, as vinegar dries the skin, be careful with the amount in case your dog has dry skin.

 

– Can I give my dog allergy medicine?

Take your dog to your vet who may run a complete diagnostic test and then come up with a treatment plan for your dog.

This may include prescription medications which are used to treat any underlying health problems that may be leading to your dog’s constant scratching.

Also, your vet might suggest systemic or topical antibiotics to treat hot spots or infected skin.
